Hi there, My name is Marika, I am a recent photography graduate living in Norfolk. I believe photography is creative, inventive and always exciting media, its changeability is what keeps me enthusiastic at all times. Specialising in portraiture, still life and landscape photography, I enjoy creating a constructive imagery.
In my latest work I have been focusing on environmental issues regarding bees in decline, agricultural pesticides and a human health. Currently I am leaning towards a scientific and medical photographic style, using mainly digital cameras. However, I am prepared to be adaptable if I feel the need to slow down and challenge myself, I will then move to the use of analogue.
I prefer the use of colour photography to my own work, believing that colour can have a positive effect on mood, creating an illusion of the present, and in a way seeming more imaginative and surreal. My aim is to build further on skills and experience within different photographic processes and techniques, and also to discover a creative potential in the upcoming projects.
